An Open Letter to Leicester City Fans

Dear Leicester City Supporters,

We write to you today as fellow fans, united by our love for this great football club. Like you, we are hurting. Two relegations in three years have been incredibly difficult to take. It is not what any of us want, and certainly not what any of us dreamed of.

Performances in recent months have often fallen short of the standards we have come to expect, and we share your frustration and disappointment. But we must also remember the journey we have been on together.

Winning the Premier League, lifting the FA Cup, and competing in Europe were beyond our wildest dreams. They gave us memories we will never forget, but they were also extraordinary moments—ones that cannot realistically happen every year.

What we can and must do, however, is stand together in both the good times and the bad, because that is what being a football fan is truly about. Supporting Leicester City is more than just about the results.

It is a huge commitment—financially, emotionally, and in the sacrifices we all make with our time. That makes it even harder when results don’t go our way. But as fans, we can influence what happens on the pitch. We can make the difference—when we are united.

On the back of Abdul’s recent post, we ask all fans to get behind the lads, no matter what. Things will go wrong at times—we will lose games, we will be chasing results—but that is when the players need us most.

For years, our song has rung true: “We will always back the lads, through the good times and the bad.” Now is the moment to prove it once again. We also need to acknowledge the impact of negativity in the stands. Booing and abusive chants do not help our team. In fact, they are having a damaging effect—on individuals, on confidence, and on results. Many of our players are young, some have come through our academy, and they are giving everything to wear the shirt.

In recent games, we have seen players come to clap the fans, take responsibility, and instead be abused. That must change. Equally, we call on the players to do their part. Win, lose, or draw, we ask every player to come over to the fans at the end of the match. We know there are negative voices, but there are also thousands of us applauding, supporting, and standing by the team.

Those fans deserve acknowledgment every single time. We all want the same thing: better performances, more goals, more wins, and ultimately promotion back to where we belong. That will only happen if we stand together—players and fans alike. If we unite behind this badge and this team, we give ourselves the best possible chance of success.

So let’s lift our voices, let’s back the lads, and let’s show once again why Leicester City supporters are among the very best in the land. Together, we can make the difference. With pride and belief, Leicester City Supporters Club
